The M3-ID is another beast, though, one of only a few printers available with dual independent motor drives. If printing dual extrusion is something that interests you, then the M3-ID beats the heck out of any dual extruder solution with both heads stuck together on the same mount (which is the usual configuration, and the configuration used by the M2 dual).

I personally own an M2, and was able convince my place of work to buy an M2 about a year ago, and just recently an M3-ID. The M3-ID comes with a download key for Simplify3D, that alone improved the quality of my prints, I found that the print path of each layer happens in a much more logical manner with Simplify3D. I was previously using Cura.

I've had an M3 ID for about a week or so now. one of the biggest improvements I see over the M2 (which I had previously) is the cooling fans. For one thing, I find that supports remove much more cleanly. Compared to prints made with the M2 of the same objects, overhanging sections are much cleaner.

I got one of the first production units of the MakerGear M3-ID. This is a dual extruder printer with independent movement. I upgraded from the MakerGear M2 which I had for 3 years before the M3.
